Principal Investigator
Dr. Jun Fang (方俊)
Dr. Fang is an Associate Professor (Tenure-track) in the School of Biomedical Engineering at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University since 2021. He received his PhD through a joint program supported by CSC Scholarship between Donghua University (State Key Laboratory for Modification of Chemical Fibers and Polymer Materials) and University of Pittsburgh in 2015 (Supervisors: Prof. Xiumei Mo and Prof. William R. Wagner). From 2016 to 2021, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and later an Assistant Project Scientist at the University of California, Los Angeles (Supervisor: Prof. Song Li).
Dr. Fang is a founding member and Associate Editor of the Med-X journal. He has been awarded the Shanghai Overseas High-Level Talent Program and the Pujiang Talent Program. He also serves on several academic committees, including TIRMIS-AP, the Vascular Section of the Chinese Anatomical Society, and the Med-X International Academic Conference.
Currently, Dr. Fang leads multiple research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Shanghai Pujiang Talent Program, SJTU Star Program of Medical Engineering Cross Project, as well as industry-sponsored projects. He has authored over 40 publications in leading international journals such as Nature Biomedical Engineering, Nature Nanotechnology, and Nature Communications. He holds several licensed Chinese and U.S. patents and has participated in some clinical translational research.
